Kampong Chang

Kampong Cham local folklore

1.5 - Activity Level: Moderate
Take a coach tour to visit two local monuments that form part
of the history of the region. Phnom bros (Man Hill) was part
of a traditional local legend but more recently was used as
a Killing Fields during the Khmer Rouge era. The temple now
features a Buddha garden and is often visited by the local
troop of monkeys. Wat Nokor Bachey is a unique architectural
experiment blending an Angkorian era temple with a new
temple built inside it.

4.5 hours - Activity Level: Relaxed
You will have a tour of Tuol Sleng Prison (S-21) and the Killing
Fields at Choeung Ek is a sobering reminder of the evils of the
Khmer Rouge regime. Although not a joyful tour, visiting these
monuments unlocks keys to understanding the development of
this still developing country. Return back to the ship for lunch.
Cambodia

Angkor Wat temple and mines

3.5 hours - Activity Level: Moderate
Head by private vehicle to see the “gem” of the Angkor area, the pretty temple of Banteay Srei. The so-called “Citadel of the Women” was built between the 11th and 13th century and remains the best preserved in Cambodia. On the way back to Siem Reap, stop at the Landmine Museum which promotes mine awareness and education.

2 hours - Activity Level: Moderate
Unearth the traditions of the Delta as you cruise on your sampan. Drift past a French gothic cathedral before arriving at an ancient house that dates back to the 19th century. Take a step into the past as you explore its beautiful interior and traditional adornments. Then, visit a coconut candy factory and observe how locals make an array of delicious local sweets. Sample some treats and check out the variety of traditional Vietnamese wines, from fruit to snakes.

3.5 hours - Activity Level: Relaxed
Depart from the hotel for the heart of the Old Quarter. Enjoy a welcome at the restaurant, then head to the local market to buy ingredients. Once in the market, enjoy the daily activities and see the variety of goods on offer. Once food shopping is done, head back to the restaurant to start the preparation of lunch.

5.5 hours - Activity Level: Moderate
Take a speedboat & then drive approximately 20kms from Chau Doc to Tra Su Forest and travel by sampan through endless waterways flanked by mangroves and lush greenery. This eco reserve spans 850 hectares and is an ecological haven for fauna and flora, with more than 100 species of water birds and colonies of bats.
