Explore wonderful Amsterdam – with its wealth of canals, museums and bicycles.
Day 3 | Cologne > Marksburg Highlights: Medieval castle banquet
Explore the Neanderthal Museum or take a stroll through Cologne and get up close to the filigree twin towers of the famous cathedral. Alternatively enjoy a cooking demonstration on board your Scenic Space-Ship. Whatever you choose it’s a great day to see and discover.
Day 4 | Rhine Gorge > Rüdesheim Highlights: Rhine Gorge
Enjoy the unrivalled views and fresh air of the spectacular World Heritage-listed Rhine Gorge. Then alight in Rüdesheim and board the Winzerexpress mini train for a guided visit of Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum before enjoying a cable car ride to the Niederwald Monument, for a spectacular view of the river.
Day 5 | Freudenberg >Tastes of ‘Oktoberfest’ Highlights: Tastes of ‘Oktoberfest’
In Freudenberg you’ll get the chance to celebrate the Scenic version of ‘Oktoberfest’, Germany’s famously fun festival. Look forward to joyous oom-pah-pah music, bright festive blue flags, and an abundance of fine beer. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the locals, see some regional arts and crafts, and indulge in a Bavarian lunch with large servings of good humour and revelry.
Day 6 | Würzburg Highlights: Romantic Rothenburg
Visit the Bishop’s Residenz Palace and sample some exquisite local wine, or explore the famous Romantic Road – such an important trade route during the Middle Ages.
Day 7 | Bamberg Highlights: Old Town
Immerse yourself in the Old Town of Bamberg, a World Heritage-listed Site alive with history. With your knowledgeable local guide, walk the same cobbled streets as medieval traders once did. During your leisure time you might like to savour the traditional smoked beer of the region.
Day 8 | Nuremberg Highlights: WWII history
Welcome to this fascinating and ancient Bavarian city, dating back to the 11th century.
Day 9 | Regensburg Highlights: Danube Gorge
From its medieval town, the bordering Bavarian Forest and the confluence of three rivers, Regensburg offers a rich tapestry of experiences.
Day 10 | Passau > Salzburg Highlights: The Wonder of The Sound of Music
Let the ‘Best of The Sound of Music and Salzburg Show’ transport you to another time and place. Based on the timeless movie of the same name, this exclusive production is performed in the rolling hills of Salzburg and will wow you with its stage sets. Enjoy an authentic Austrian lunch before an afternoon of humming along to some of the catchy classics.
Day 11 | Melk > Dürnstein Highlights: Sundowners in Wachau Valley
Experience Melk’s magnificent 18th century Benedictine Abbey on a guided tour. Alternatively, for the more active embark on an enjoyable guided bike ride along the river from Melk to one of the most enchanting villages in the region, Dürnstein – at your own pace, of course.
Day 12 | Vienna Highlights: Enrich Private Viennese concert
Acquaint yourself with this opulent city by taking a fascinating guided tour of its most famous sights, including the Ringstrasse.
Day 13 | Vienna Highlights: Shop with a Chef
Take a guided tour of Bratislava or Schönbrunn Palace, and witness the sheer opulence of the Habsburg Empire. Day 15 | Budapest Highlights: Buda and Pest
Enjoy some free time to explore beautiful Budapest.
Day 16 | Kalocsa Highlights: Hungarian horse show
Today you’ll get to witness a traditional Hungarian horse show.
Day 17 | Osijek Highlights: Enrich home hosted meal
Explore Osijek on a guided city tour, or try your hand at fishing in a local village stream. Or, if you’re the more active type, you could opt to take a blissful guided bike ride through Osijek’s countryside.
Day 18 | Belgrade Highlights: Scenic Sundowners
Join your local guide and discover one of the oldest capital cities in Europe – Belgrade. Alternatively, choose a guided bicycle ride along the Danube, or taste your way around the local market through our Shop with a Chef offering. Or for some true insight into local life join a walking tour with a local.
Day 19 | Iron Gates Highlights: Danube Gorge
Relax on board and admire the scenery as you cruise the spectacular Iron Gates – a narrow gorge that the Danube has carved out between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains. Not only is it a spectacular setting for a cruise, it’s also the natural border between Serbia and Romania.
Day 20 | Svistov > Russe Highlights: Byzantine treasures
Discover the Byzantine gem of Veliko Tarnovo and the World Heritage-listed village of Arbanassi. Alternatively stay on board and enjoy the trip towards the Bulgarian town of Russe, where you’ll be treated to a guided sightseeing tour.
Day 21 | Silistra Highlights: Black Sea and Varna
Discover the Silistra Fort during an active walking tour, or take an excursion to Varna on the Black Sea coast. Or, tour a local village, including a visit to the primary school, and learn about life in Bulgaria.
Day 22 | Giurgiu > Bucharest Highlights: Palace of the Parliament
Disembark your ship and travel to Bucharest.
Day 23 | Bucharest > Nessebar Highlights: Black Sea Coast
Travel to the stunning Black Sea coast for a two night stay at your opulent hotel in Nessebar.
Day 24 | Nessebar Highlights: Pristine beaches
Enjoy a guided tour of Nessebar, followed by some valuable leisure time. Tonight, delight in delicious local cuisine and take in a folklore show.
Day 25 | Nessebar > Canakkale Highlights: The Dardanelles
Journey from Bulgaria to Canakkale, Turkey and enjoy a two night stay.
Day 26 | Canakkale > Gallipoli Highlights: Gallipoli ANZAC heritage
Today travel to the Gallipoli Peninsula, the site of WWI landings by the Allied Forces, including ANZAC troops. There are over 31 cemeteries on the peninsula, which is now a national park, and you’ll have the chance to explore it all and gain a unique perspective on this moving and historically poignant location.
Day 27 | Istanbul Highlights: Homer’s Troy
After breakfast enjoy a fascinating tour of Homer’s Troy – the legendary site of the Trojan Wars. You’ll even see a giant replica of the famous Trojan Horse. Afterwards, travel to Istanbul, where you can look forward to a three night stay.
Day 28 | Istanbul Highlights: Europe meets Asia
Try your hand at a cooking class or join a calligraphy course and try the ancient art of writing. Alternatively, relax and rejuvenate during your visit to the Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamami Turkish Baths.
Day 29 | Istanbul Highlights: Enrich Hamdi Restaurant dinner
This morning visit Hagia Sophia and spend some time wandering the evocative Grand Bazaar before enjoying an afternoon at leisure.
Day 30 | Istanbul Highlights: Farewell
After breakfast, prepare to head home. It may be the end of your journey, but it’s the beginning of a lifetime of fond memories.
