  1. Day 1 - Bucharest

    Welcome to Romania’s capital, Bucharest, where you will check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

  2. Day 2 - Bucharest > Giurgiu

    Freechoice

    Explore Bucharest and learn about its communist past, including a visit to Ceausescu’s Spring Palace. Or, tour the Village Open Air Museum and discover ethnography exhibits depicting Romanian heritage and culture.

    Later, travel to Giurgiu where you will be personally welcomed on board your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship.

  3. Day 3 - Silistra

    Discover Silistra Fort on an active walk, or take an excursion to Varna on the Black Sea coast. Alternatively, visit a local village and school to learn about life in Bulgaria.

  4. Day 4 - Rousse

    Visit Rousse, where you’ll be treated to a guided sightseeing tour. Alternatively, discover the Byzantine gem of Veliko Tarnovo and the World Heritage-listed village of Arbanassi.

  5. Day 5 - Iron Gates

    Relax and admire the scenery as you cruise the spectacular Iron Gates, a narrow gorge that the Danube has carved out between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains.

  6. Day 6 - Belgrade

    Enjoy an in-depth tour of Belgrade, including a visit to Tito’s Memorial, or take an orientation tour of Belgrade and see the highlights before time at leisure to wander this fascinating city. Alternatively, join a bicycle ride along the Danube, or for a true insight into everyday life in Belgrade, take a walk through the city with a local student. Alternatively, journey to the nearby town of Sremski Karlovci where you can wander the town and marvel at the many beautiful Baroque elements..

  7. Day 7 - Osijek

    Explore Osijek on a guided city tour, or if you’re the more active type, take a guided bike ride through Osijek’s countryside. Alternatively, learn about the Ancestry of the Kitchen as you join a local for a fish stew cooking class and insight into local traditions and culture.

    Later, as a special Scenic guest you’ll be invited into the home of a local family for a traditional home-cooked meal and the chance to discover what everyday life is really like in Croatia.

  8. Day 8 - Kalocsa

    Located on the Great Hungarian Plain, Kolocsa is one of the oldest towns in Hungary. Today you will have the opportunity to witness a traditional Puszta horse show. Be greeted by the horsemen of the Puszta region where this type of activity has been practised for centuries.

  9. Day 9 - Budapest > Ljubljana

    This morning disembark your Scenic Space-Ship and transfer to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Although small in size and population this city doesn’t lack charm. With its many colourful buildings such as the Franciscan Church, lively town squares and baroque architecture, Ljubljana is one of the hidden gems of this region.

  10. Day 10 - Ljubljana

    Start your day with a guided tour of Ljubljana, the city sitting on the Ljubljanica River and discover the cities many treasures such as the Opera House, National Museum, Franciscan Church and St. Nicholas Cathedral.
    Then journey to Bled, the small town surrounded by towering Alps and overlooking the glacial lake of the same name. Step back in time and take a traditional Pletna boat to the beautiful island sitting in the middle of Lake Bled. Visit the historic Church of St. Mary with its famous wishing well where you can ring the bell for good luck.

  11. Day 11 - Ljubljana > Zagreb

    After a leisurely morning cross the Croatian border to the capital, Zagreb. Located on the southern slopes of the Medvednica Mountains and on the banks of the Sava River, Zagreb is Croatia’s largest city and it beautifully encompasses its traditional European history with its modern function as the economical and governmental hub of the country. Your local guide will show you the highlights of the city during your walking tour.

  12. Day 12 - Zagreb > Plitvice National Park > Zagreb

    This morning, tour the sublimely beautiful World Heritage-listed Plitvice National park. Wander along meandering pathway to views a series of emerald green lakes, stepped and linked by impressive waterfalls.

  13. Day 13 - Zagreb

    After breakfast, transfer to Zagreb airport for your onwards or homebound flight.
