Travel down the length and breadth of South Africa, along the stunning Garden Route, all the way to the green hills of Natal, to Kruger National Park’s Lion Sands Game Reserve, and more. From the roaring splendour of Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls to the incredible sand dunes of the Sossusvlei Desert in Namibia. This is a journey that encompasses the very best of the continent’s southern and southwestern regions.

  1. Day 1 - Cape Town

    Welcome to wonderful Cape Town. Enjoy an exclusive three night Special Stay at your hotel, with spectacular views of the waterfront and Table Mountain. Tonight, meet your Tour Director for a welcome drink and dinner.

  2. Day 2 - Cape Town

    Ascend Table Mountain by rotating gondola for wondrous 360 degree views.

    Sample South Africa’s finest vintages on a winelands tour. Alternatively, visit history rich Robben Island, take a township tour, or a Harley DavidsonTM ride.

  3. Day 3 - Cape Town

    Journey along the Atlantic coastline to Cape Point, stop at the Cape of Good Hope and visit Boulders Beach, home to an African penguin colony.

  4. Day 4 - Cape Town > Oudtshoorn

    Stunning semi-desert scenery awaits en route to the town of Oudtshoorn. Later, discover a wonderland of underground chambers at the Cango Caves, among the largest in the world, before your overnight stay.

  5. Day 5 - Oudtshoorn > Knysna

    Learn about Africa’s largest bird at a local ostrich farm, then head to Knysna on the Garden Route, famous for its oysters. You’ll enjoy an overnight stay. Enjoy a scenic lagoon cruise with expert commentary on the region’s flora and fauna.

  6. Day 6 - Port Elizabeth > Durban

    Travel along the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth and board your flight to Durban. Enjoy a two night Special Stay at your hotel, the ultimate in colonial charm and style.

  7. Day 7 - Durban

    Discover today the beach side town of Durban, famous for its Indian and colonial influences.

    Learn about the Anglo-Zulu war that took place close to Durban whilst sampling afternoon tea.

  8. Day 8 - Hluhluwe > Ghost Mountain

    The Dolphin Coast region of Natal has a sea of sugarcane fields. Enter Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, world-renowned for its rhino conservation program. Later, check into your elegant hotel for a two night stay at the foot of Zululand’s legendary Ghost Mountain.

    This evening, you’ll be treated to a mesmerising display of traditional Zulu dancing, complete with dramatic local drumming.

  9. Day 9 - Ghost Mountain

    Visit a Zulu community in the Lebombo Mountains, and be welcomed by the village chief for a private tour.

  10. Day 10 - Ghost Mountain > Swaziland

    Arrive in the tiny kingdom of Swaziland. Journey through the magnificent valleys of Big Bend to your resort, nestled within an idyllic Botanical Garden, for an overnight stay. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the magnificent garden.

  11. Day 11 - Swaziland > Kruger National Park

    Kruger National Park borders stretch an impressive 450 kilometres. You’ll enjoy a two night Special Stay at your lodge, on a private concession within the park. The Sabie River flows through it, home to the highest recorded concentration of leopards in Africa. Look out for the Big Five on a game drive in an open safari vehicle.

    At the end of your afternoon game drive, partake in one of the most enjoyable of safari traditions – Sundowner drinks.

  12. Day 12 - Lion Sands Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)

    Limitless game viewing possibilities await as you traverse the entire Kruger National Park in specially adapted Land Rovers to track the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.

    Encounter hippos by exploring the shores of the Sabie River on foot with a game ranger, or enjoy a fascinating lecture on wildlife. Alternatively, visit a local community.

  13. Day 13 - Panorama Route > Johannesburg

    Travel the magnificent Panorama Route on the way to Johannesburg. View Blyde River Canyon, the third deepest in the world, then visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Check into your hotel for two nights.

  14. Day 14 - Johannesburg

    Explore Soweto with your local guide and visit Nelson Mandela’s house. Learn about 20th century South Africa at the Apartheid Museum.

  15. Day 15 - Johannesburg > Victoria Falls

    Board your flight to Victoria Falls. The world’s largest sheet of falling water rises up to 108 metres high and spans a gorge carved out of a flat plateau. Check into your colonial hotel for your three night Special Stay. Tonight’s outdoor dinner features a mesmerising display of traditional dancing.

    Be treated to a special Sundowners cruise down the Zambezi River and watch the teeming wildlife on the banks, drink in hand.

  16. Day 16 - Chobe National Park

    Large concentrations of big game call Chobe National Park home. Embark on a game drive along the shoreline, where predators often come to drink. Later, enjoy a cruise on the Chobe River, home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo. Large pods of hippo and giraffe families inhabit the banks and woodlands.

  17. Day 17 - Victoria Falls

    Visit a typical Zimbabwean village for insights into traditional tribal life and meet the elephants as part of your visit to the elephant sanctuary.

    Later, witness the power of Victoria Falls with a tour of the Zimbabwean side of the world’s largest waterfall. Enjoy dinner in the beautiful Livingstone Restaurant to complete your day.

  18. Day 18 - Victoria Falls > Johannesburg

    Helicopter flight - Enjoy an optional helicopter flight over Victoria Falls. Enquire for details – additional expense, please book on tour.

    Later, you’ll fly to Johannesburg for an overnight stay.

  19. Day 19 - Johannesburg > Windhoek

    Fly to Windhoek, Namibia’s remote capital. Transfer to your hotel a former castle overlooking the city.

  20. Day 20 - Windhoek > Sossusvlei

    Soar over open savannah to the Namib Desert, where towering orange sand dunes surround a stunning white salt pan known as Sossusvlei. Surprisingly, this desert wilderness is home to a wide variety of animals, including ostrich, zebra and springbok. For the next two nights, the Little Kulala Lodge will be your home.

  21. Day 21 - Sossusvlei

    Meet your local guide for an excursion into the dunes and discover how the ancient bushman scratched a living from this barren land. Take the rare opportunity to climb one of the sand dunes (moderate fitness level required) and witness the incredible vistas across the Namib Desert.

    Marvel at the sunset in the desert with Sundowners on the deck of the lodge.

  22. Day 22 - Sossusvlei > Swakopmund

    Fly to Swakopmund, Namibia’s premier resort town and settle in for your two night stay at the Swakopmund Plaza Hotel.

    Take a seal and dolphin cruise in nearby Walvis Bay, or a living desert tour where your local guide will bring the dunes to life.

  24. Day 24 - Swakopmund > Etosha National Park

    Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s most unique game reserves. The waterholes around the Etosha Pan attract vast numbers of big game. Enjoy a three night stay at Etosha Village.

  25. Day 25 - Etosha National Park

    Join your expert game ranger for morning and evening game drives, and enjoy some of Africa’s finest savannah game viewing. Long lines of zebra, giraffe, elephant and springbok wander ancient paths between grasslands and waterholes as predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs wait
    in the shallow cover.

  26. Day 26 - Etosha National Park

    Enjoy more game drives, including a night drive.

    Namibia is an independent tour, not escorted by a Scenic Tour Director. Flights within Namibia are via light aircraft.
