From sultry Darwin, you’ll make your way down the coast. The prehistoric and incredibly beautiful Katherine Gorge will astound with its sparkling waters and deep sandstone cliffs, before you find yourself in rich farming country and the stunning El Questro Wilderness Park. Meet a traditional landowner and discover traditional culture and storytelling. Ride a camel along the famous Cable Beach or get up close with a friendly Bottlenose dolphin in the turquoise waters of Monkey Mia before arriving in Perth.

23 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Darwin

    Welcome to cosmopolitan Darwin for a two night stay.

  2. Day 2 - Darwin


    Cruise on the Adelaide River, home to the ‘jumping crocodiles’ or take a day trip to Litchfield National Park. Alternatively, enjoy a sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour, take the hop-on-hop-off bus around town or the WWII Bombing of Darwin tour.

  3. Day 3 - Darwin > Kakadu

    Cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong, spotting crocodiles and birdlife. Your overnight stay tonight is Kakadu.

  4. Day 4 - Kakadu > Katherine

    Optional flight - Take an optional flight over Kakadu National Park for a bird’s-eye view of the wetlands and rocky terrain (at additional cost, please book prior to departure).

    Discover the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Be amazed by the wildlife and Aboriginal art. Your home for tonight is Katherine.


    Your dinner cruise through Katherine Gorge will transport you into the spiritual world of the Jawoyn people and their remarkable culture.

  5. Day 5 - Katherine > Kununurra

    Explore the largest lake in the Southern Hemisphere, Lake Argyle, before joining your cruise down the spectacular Ord River. Relax tonight at Kununurra.

  6. Day 6 - Kununurra > El Questro

    Optional flight - Take an optional flight over the Bungle Bungles for a bird’s-eye view of these massive sandstone structures (at additional cost, please book prior to departure).

    Follow the Cockburn Range to the acclaimed El Questro Wilderness Park and your Special Stay for the next two nights at Emma Gorge.

    Optional El Questro Homestead upgrade - Take the opportunity to upgrade your stay to the deluxe El Questro Homestead (at additional expense, must be booked prior to departure and will substitute accommodation and touring activities). Please note 2022 Homestead availability is very limited, please enquire for further details.

  7. Day 7 - El Questro


    Cruise through the Chamberlain Gorge or discover the traditional culture and history of El Questro. Alternatively, join a park ranger on a bird spotting walk.


    Relax over evening drinks at the airstrip while capturing stunning views of the sunset over the Cockburn Ranges.

  8. Day 8 - El Questro > Halls Creek

    Admire the striking colours of the massive Carr Boyd Ranges as you travel the Great Northern Highway. Meet your Indigenous guide for a tour and a story about the Argyle Diamond Mine which was one of the world’s largest producers of pink diamonds Continue on to Halls Creek for your overnight stay.

  9. Day 9 - Halls Creek > Fitzroy Crossing

    Cruise this afternoon on Geikie Gorge. Look out for sawfish, stingrays and Freshwater crocodiles. Spend the night at the Fitzroy Crossing.

  10. Day 10 - Fitzroy Crossing > Broome

    See the Boab prison tree estimated to be 1500 years old before continuing to Broome with its white sandy beaches and tropical waters.


    Meet Neville and discover a unique and personal history of Broome . A third generation pearl diver – he will share his stories of Broome both modern and old. Hear how the local plants and bushes where the indigenous pharmacy and a source of bush tucker.

    Enjoy sunset at Cable Beach. Enjoy a two night stay in Broome.

  11. Day 11 - Broome


    Take a tour of Broome on a Harley-Davidson™ Trike or ride camels along the famous Cable Beach. Alternatively, enjoy a cultural experience of Broome with an indigenous local or visit Willie Creek Pearl Farm.

    Optional flight - Take the opportunity to experience the Horizontal Falls on an exhilarating seaplane flight (at additional cost and replaces Scenic Freechoice touring and activities.   12. Day 12 - Broome > Port Hedland

    Explore the Pilbara and view some of the world’s most ancient landscapes.


    Discover the secrets of Port Hedland from your afternoon Port Hedland Harbour Cruise.

  13. Day 13 - Port Hedland > Karijini National Park

    Put on your hard hat for a tour of the Mount Tom Price iron ore mine. Stay overnight in Karijini National Park.

  14. Day 14 - Karijini National Park > Karratha

    Explore the ancient gorges and waterfalls of Karijini National Park. Visit Fortescue Falls and the Dale and Joffre Gorges for astounding views. Later, view the spectacular Hamersley Range with its sheer walls of rock, layered in many colours. Stay overnight at Karratha.

  15. Day 15 - Karratha > Exmouth

    Travel along the North West Coastal highway to Exmouth for a two night stay.

  16. Day 16 - Exmouth

    Start your day with a Ningaloo Reef coral viewing cruise before visiting historic Vlamingh Head Lighthouse for stunning views over Lighthouse Bay.


    Enjoy a drink at the resort’s bar and watch the trawlers head out to begin their evening’s work.

  17. Day 17 - Exmouth > Carnarvon

    Explore Coral Bay where the turquoise blue of the ocean meets the sandy bay at Ningaloo Reef. Visit the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum, before arriving in Carnarvon for your overnight stay.

  18. Day 18 - Carnarvon > Monkey Mia

    Travel to Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of stromatolites. Enjoy two nights at Monkey Mia, home to Bottlenose dolphins.

  19. Day 19 - Monkey Mia

    This morning, cherish the opportunity to see the dolphins under the supervision of a national park ranger.


    Cruise through Shark Bay searching for dugong or sail into the sunset. Alternatively, dine on damper as you listen to stories of the Dreamtime.

  20. Day 20 - Monkey Mia > Geraldton

    See Shell Beach then continue to Kalbarri National Park and experience the new Skywalk for views of Murchison River Gorge. At Geraldton visit the HMAS Sydney Memorial before arriving at your overnight stay.

  21. Day 21 - Geraldton > Perth

    Marvel at the extraordinary Pinnacles during your visit to Nambung National Park. Enjoy a two night Special Stay in Perth.
