We work closely with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and local and international Government Health agencies, to ensure our protocols exceed the latest regulatory requirements. Our Health & Safety Steering Committee oversees all our health and safety policies and training, ensuring you can travel with complete confidence. In addition, we are implementing the most recent insights and technologies, with our Scenic Group team dedicated to providing the highest standard of cleanliness required in today’s travel climate.

Medical Evaluation

Medical Evaluation & Vaccination Requirement

To ensure the health and safety of yourselves, your fellow guests, and crew before your journey with us begins, we will require you to complete a pre-departure medical health evaluation. All guests must have received the required dose(s) of an approved COVID 19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to departure (* conditions apply for France).

Accepted Vaccinations
• Pfizer & BioNTech 2 doses
• Moderna 2 doses
• AstraZeneca 2 doses
• Johnson & Johnson 1 dose
• Sputnik V 2 doses
• Sinopharm / Sinovac 2 doses

While Scenic can accept these vaccines, including mixed doses of the above, guests are responsible for ensuring that countries transited to and from the port of embarkation and disembarkation also accept these vaccines.

Booster Dose

Booster dose vaccinations must be current at time of travel. “Current” means a person has received all recommended COVID 19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) for the countries visited on their Scenic journey. When a booster dose is not mandatory by all countries visited, embarkation will be permitted with standard dose requirements. Scenic still recommends all guests to receive a booster dose, even when not required, to ensure maximum protection against COVID 19. This will allow you to relax with complete peace of mind and be assured that you are in the company of fellow vaccinated guests.

Guests must:
• Carry and present confirmation of vaccination
• Complete any travel entry requirement forms for the country at the start of your Scenic journey
• Check with your airline for any updates to protocols or boarding requirements
• Travel safely - wear a mask, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer, and observe social distancing
• Complete the Scenic Health Questionnaire presented upon embarkation 

PCR/RAT testing - Scenic Eclipse Voyages

A negative test result for COVID-19 should be taken in line with airline and country entry requirements on your journey. If no test result is required, Scenic still highly recommends taking a test within 72hrs of departure to reduce the risk of disruptions to your travel after departing your home (own expense). Guests may be required to take a Rapid Antigen test on embarkation (no additional cost).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that from 1st October 2022, guests will no longer be required to provide a negative PCR test result to board Scenic Eclipse.

Every member will be fully vaccinated and tested before and after joining the ship,  and all crew members will receive extensive training on COVID safety prior to starting work.

The entire Scenic team are empowered to ensure we all exceed the required protocol and are focused on making sure you have a truly exceptional experience.

All crew members will follow local government and health advisories, and masks will only be required to be worn if it is mandated or deemed necessary by local authorities or for the health and wellbeing of our guests onboard.

Through a phased embarkation you will be able to arrive and depart with safe social proximity in mind. And, of course, every time you return on-board, our crew will be there to greet you with a warm smile.

Masks may be required in public areas on the ship when physical distancing is not possible. We will follow local government and health advice, which Scenic must adhere to. Your dedicated crew will keep you updated on requirements throughout your river cruise.

Our on board crew will be increasing and enhancing our already frequent and high standard cleaning protocols in public areas and suites, leaving surfaces and spaces spotless. Additional care and attention will be paid to high contact zones, such as communal restrooms and dining facilities.

You can expect the same delightful dining experiences when you travel with us, savouring a choice of dishes inspired by regional cuisine and local produce. We are adapting and redesigning our on board food and beverage service to ensure extra care is taken in order to minimize social contact. We will serve our delicious food a la carte or via served buffets.

The spacious surrounds of our ships in combination with the guest numbers provide ample room for you to relax, allowing for an abundance of personal space. We are introducing contact-free movement through-out Scenic Eclipse to further reduce risks. Contact-free hand sanitizer dispensers will be readily available in all public spaces and guest corridors on board, while automated doors and contact-free guest servicing will minimize the number of touchpoints.

Scenic Eclipse is equipped with enhanced HVAC systems through-out the vessel and in guest suites.  These systems ensure there is no re-circulation of inside air on board the ship. When you are relaxing in your suite you will be breathing air from outside the ship that is channeled directly to your suite. The air will also be released from your suite directly to the outside.
